Season recap...

2016-17  |  SHOOTING STARS

The St. Agnes Academy Shooting Stars wrapped up an outstanding trap season with a strong performance at the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) National Championships the week of July 8-July 15. The Stars defeated every other all female team they competed against at Regionals, State and Nationals.

SAA rising sophomore Ainsley Harrington dominated the season winning every ladies JV tournament. She captured the SCTP Regional and State titles. The team advanced to Nationals where Ainsley repeated as the champion of Ladies JV Handicap.  Ainsley is ranked 5th in the nation in Doubles Trap and 8th in the Nation in  Ladies Junior Varsity American Trap.

At the National competition SAA rising junior Hannah Roberts placed in the top 25 in the JV division, and senior Allison Raney had a top 25 finish in the varsity division.

MORE THAN SHOOTERS...

Ainsley was also selected to the All National SCTP Team. This recognition is awarded for excellence in both shooting and academics.  Additionally, she and teammate Grace Franklin were named to the State of Tennessee All Scholastic team.  Alexandria Ferrante was the recipient of a scholarship from the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation. She is one of only 105 student athletes in the nation to be awarded a scholarship based on factors including SCTP/SASP participation, academics, and a written essay.
